What are the optimal browsing conditions on the website?

This website should be accessed with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

To view diagrams, maps and illustrations to best effect, your work station should possess an SVG viewer.

How should I view website diagrams, maps and illustrations?

To view diagrams, maps and illustrations to best effect on the website, your work station should possess an SVG viewer sufficiently recent for operational purposes.

This viewer is supplied free of charge by Adobe.

In order to install it at your work station, you should be an authorised work station administrator. If this is not the case, you should contact your network administrator.

You may download the viewer on the Adobe website at the following address: http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/

 save the installation file on your hard disk;
 close your browser;
 install the viewer;
 restart your browser.

How can I magnify website diagrams, maps and illustrations?

Place your cursor on the image and click on the right-hand mouse button to access the SVG viewer facilities (to install it, see ‘How should website diagrams, maps and illustrations be viewed?’).

Begin by using the ‘show SVG’ option to access an image in its normal size. A new browser window will appear and you should enlarge it by clicking on the upper right-hand part of it.

You may then use the ‘zoom in’ facility by clicking where the cursor is and keeping the Ctrl key depressed.

For a ‘zoom out’ keep the Ctrl and capitals keys depressed and click. You may also use the zoom options in the pop-up menu.

To move around within the display, press the Alt key and simultaneously click and move your mouse.

For details on SVG viewer facilities, select the menu help option.

To return to the website, simply close the browser window.

How should I download a pdf document?

Publications on this website are available in PDF (Portable Document Format), so they can be obtained online entirely as they appear in their printed version. These PDF documents are shown with the icon on our website pages.

To view and then print them you should use a viewing facility such as the one supplied by the Adobe company (Acrobat Reader). You may download the most recent version of the Acrobat reader software free of charge from the Adobe company website (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html).

In order to install it at your work station, you should be an authorised work station administrator. If this is not the case, you should contact your network administrator.

How should I download a ZIP file?

A ZIP file contains one or several files in compressed form in order to create extra space and thus reduce the time needed for downloading.

Software such as WinZip may be used to open and create ZIP files. A trial version of WinZip (http://www.winzip.com) may be downloaded free of charge.

To find out more about the facilities offered by this software and methods of opening and creating ZIP files, please consult the page http://www.winzip.com/faq.htm.

How should I download a publication included on this website?

You are strongly advised to download the PDF version of the document either in full or by chapter and to print this version. In this way the print quality of the diagrams, maps and illustrations will be enhanced.
