Where can I find information on a particular subject?
You are advised to begin your search with browse by topic, which covers the main subjects dealt with in Eurydice publications.
If no result is satisfactory, you can carry out a subject-based search in browse by indicator and Figure, in which it may be possible to access a few separate indicators not included in a more wide-ranging study.
How can I access indicators on a particular subject?
If you are interested solely in indicators, you are advised to begin your search in browse by indicator and Figure. From this point it is possible to access by Figure the indicators in the various Key Data reports.
However other publications and in particular the comparative studies contain indicators. You may therefore carry out a further search in browse by topic.
How can I access information on a particular country?
You can begin your search in browse by country. By this means you will be able to access the various general descriptions of the education system in which you are interested, as well as national descriptions and databases featuring the country concerned. From this access point, information may be sought on each country in the Network.
You may also be interested in information on a topic with which this country and others are associated in a group. If so, it is probably best for you to continue your search in browse by topic and browse by indicator and Figure, in which other types of information output – among them indicators and comparative studies – will be included in the results. It is possible that some countries in the Network may not be included in certain publications or indicators, usually for two reasons: either because they have not contributed to a publication (particularly in the case of new Network member countries), or because the source used for an indicator possessed no data for a country (as in the case of some PISA and PIRLS data).
How can I access information on a particular topic and country?
1.
If you are searching solely for national descriptions or databases, select browse by country in which you can carry out topic-oriented searches. From the list of results you will be able to access the required information directly. However, the list of topics is shorter.
2.
If you are interested in any type of Eurydice product, you can broaden your search using the browse by topic. By this means, you will for example be able to access the comparative studies and publications containing Network indicators. However, it is possible that some Network member countries may not have contributed to a publication, especially if they have joined the Network more recently.
3.
If the topic of interest to you is not available via either the browse by country or browse by topic options, you can also try browse by indicator and Figure. This access point provides for a subject-oriented search on all Figures in the various Key Data reports. Depending on the sources of indicators, some countries may not be covered.
How can I access general information on a country’s education system?
This kind of information can easily be located via browse by country. In the case of most countries, three main sources are available with differing levels of detail:
How do I know whether the results from a search exist in a language other than English, French or German?
Results in the three browsing modes generally contain two links:
1.
a direct link to the result itself;
2.
a link to the display page of the publication from which the information is taken.
By clicking on the second link, you can identify the languages in which the publication is available and access the various language versions in pdf format.
What should I do if I am unable to access the html version of a publication?
You may well be attempting to access the version of a publication in a language other than your browsing language. If so, you should temporarily change the latter (in the upper right-hand corner of the screen).
For example, if you are browsing on the website in French and wish to access an html document in English, you should change your language of browsing to English.
NB: you can change your browsing language on any page of the website.
Why is the same title sometimes included twice in the publications list?
For website browsing purposes, we have placed each publication in a particular category (digest, comparative study, country descriptions, etc.).
However, some Eurydice publications consist of several types of information (for example, a comparative study supplemented with country descriptions).
Where this is so, such publications appear in the publications list as two separate titles, under each particular category. The html files for these publications have been prepared to reflect this, each providing solely the information corresponding to the category selected.
